Since the first time I met Steve he has talked my language - simple and straight forward. We recently embarked on 4 game changing projects which Steve very quickly grasped, and then got down on paper a plan to deliver. I underestimated the stakeholder management part that Steve would play in getting the affected teams on board. The transformation programme is ahead of schedule, on budget and also now attracting positive attention from elsewhere in the group.

Personally Steve is a brass tacks kind of person who can communicate at the board level one minute and at the front line the next adapting his approach to suit the circumstances. He is very driven, knowledgeable and starts every project with the end in sight, utilising his very simple but effective Assured Outcome Delivery (AOD) approach, he cleverly sets measurable targets for some un-measurable things. He is also well networked and respected by his peers and is someone I would have no problem recommending to do a similar exercise - just not till the one he's working on for me is finished!

The team from ODN has been excellent to work with and really gelled with our internal staff to form a true partnership in delivering the outcomes required on time and within budget, using their innovative approach to change leadership and benefits realisation called Assured Outcome Delivery (AOD).

There has been a relentless focus on the outcome often entailing long hours from the ODN team to ensure deadlines are met but they have always managed to make time for coaching and knowledge sharing with our internal team. The new Digital Services strategy, operating model, organisational structure and transformation plan, designed and delivered as part of this engagement, are centred on best practice but tailored to work in our organisation and based on our local context. ODN played a pivotal role in developing the outline business case for service transformation which was well received by Chief Officers and PCCs as it was easily understood and articulated a compelling and robust case for change. The AOD methodology brought in by ODN is now being used to review 19 other support services to policing within the alliance, which is a clear indication of how successful this engagement has been.

I with others attended one of ODN’s Assured Outcome Delivery (AOD) courses. I was new to the change world and found the change leadership and benefits realisation course informative and practical, providing a toolkit that would improve programme and project performance. He was engaging and always willing to spend time with individuals to empty his vast experience. I have used the AOD learning in my current role to great effect.

Steve’s approach in Benefits Realisation challenged the way our client team engaged in defining the benefits available to staff and customers alike from Glasgow’s city centre office modernisation programme. The benefit projections that resulted from this work identified the wide spectrum of opportunities available to Glasgow City Council which could deliver savings over and above the initial property running cost savings envisaged.

I am pleased to be able to provide a testimony based on our experience of the Outcome Delivery Network for the period to the end of March 2021. They have demonstrated their experience and expertise whilst engaging with our Board, senior stakeholders and customers and supporting the Company’s evolution in to the Police Digital Service. The ODN team’s passion, expertise and experience is clear from the first engagement and has helped me develop a functional design, new structure and comprehensive cost model  as a base to provide a brand new service to policing and law enforcement.
